Kwame Q6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

When making this media product, I learned how to develop my knowledge about how cameras function, i.e. how to position the crane, how to use a tripod, and how to use the tracks, etc. By increasing my knowledge of these equipments this helped to making our film successful and this also helps to make the film look professional. By using this devices/equipment, it helped to make our product develop the conventions of real media products. I also learned how to use the software iMovie HD to help with the editing and the effects. Due to our school's purchase of Macs, this helps to make it easier when using the programme as it helps to make our editing sharper. We also used non-linear, in order to change the way our film was to be run, which gave us the power to do the movie the way we wanted instead of  following the order of how we shot different shots.

Through this, we were able to, as consumers, become the directors/producers. This helped us to think about how a director/camera man would think when it came to constructing our media product. We also used our expertise of when we were watching films to give suggestions about what shots would we see so that we will be able to apply them to our movie in order to make it successful. Using this technology and equipment, and their knowledge about film, consumers can be empowered to be producers especially when making a mini movie for school production, etc. Through this they will have the knowledge and understanding about what they will need to see and how to make this happen. This is something that I also learnt to do through the process of constructing this media product.
